The Challenge
Pureology, a luxury haircare brand, was relaunching and needed a bespoke mailer to engage its top salons and reflect its new premium positioning. The goal was to create an immersive experience that went beyond standard printed mailers, offering a tangible representation of the brand's elevated identity. The challenge was to design a high-end box that showcased various promotional materials while adhering to budget constraints.
A key design element was a candle, which needed to be securely positioned in the box. The client requested specific placement, requiring creative solutions to ensure both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Our Solution
We collaborated across departments to bring the Pureology mailer to life. Our MauveCreative team developed several luxe box designs, and after the client selected a favourite, our CAD team created a white mockup to ensure the structure could securely hold the items, especially the candle.
To enhance the unboxing experience while staying within budget, we proposed a scented candle as an alternative to scented pads. Once the design was approved, our MauvePrint and Finishing teams handled production, with only the foil finish on the lid outsourced to add an extra touch of elegance.
The Result
We designed and produced 90 premium mailer boxes for most engaged salons, creating an immersive brand experience that aligns with their new luxury positioning. This initiative was aimed at strengthening the brand's relationship with key salon partners by delivering a multi-sensory unboxing experience.
Through close collaboration with the client, we overcame design and budget challenges. The final mailer not only highlighted Pureology’s elegance and refinement but also created a sensory connection through the use of high-quality materials, striking visuals, and fragrance. This immersive approach captured Pureology’s premium status, ensuring salons fully engaged with the brand relaunch. The team was delighted with the final design.
